MAC PROFESSIONAL KNIFE SERIES

Praised as "The Worlds Sharpest Knives" - Shop the MAC Pro Series

The MAC Professional Series is the brand’s flagship range, handmade in Japan for chefs who demand laser-like sharpness and everyday durability. Since 1964, MAC has sold more than 25 million knives worldwide and is often praised as producing “the sharpest knife in the world”. Each blade is forged from the company’s proprietary molybdenum high-carbon stainless steel and sub-zero tempered to 57–61 HRC for superb edge retention. At just 2.0-2.5 mm thick and a 15° double bevel, the blades is surgically sharp and glides through food with minimal wedging, while a forged bolster adds stability and comfortable pinch-grip control. The look is completed with riveted black Pakkawood handles.

OUR HANDS ON TAKE FOR THE MAC PROGESSIONAL RANGE

Chunkier, sculpted handles with an Asian flair, more shaped than a traditional European knife make these feel planted yet comfortable. Balance is spot on, and the edge is exceptionally fine and sharper than most out of the box, gliding through prep with minimal effort. The matt steel finish looks smart in daily use, and the knives arrive well presented with a cardboard blade guard. It’s no surprise they’ve built a global cult following and are often cited as among the sharpest you can buy.

FAQs

MAC uses proprietary high-carbon stainless steel that resists corrosion in normal kitchen use. Hand-wash, dry immediately and avoid soaking in acidic or salty water to keep the blades spotless and rust-free.

MAC comes from “Manufacturing Association of Cutlery,” the company founded in Japan in 1964 to produce finely honed kitchen blades for professional chefs.
